Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of university


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists Certification, Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities


Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English


Work Setting: Private practice


Area of Practice in Audiology: Diagnostic audiology, Ear mould impressions and modifications, Hearing aids selection and orientation, Audiometric testing


Type of Clients: Adults


Specific Skills: Administer audiometric tests, Diagnose and evaluate degree of hearing impairment, Plan and implement rehabilitation programs, Counsel hearing impaired adults and families of hearing impaired children


Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Eligible for professional liability insurance


Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Attention to detail, Manual dexterity


Ability to Supervise: 1 to 2 people
